
Introduction about Hanwang ERT components
Hanwang ERT components utilize electromagnetic resonance technology to implements powerful non-contact handwriting input for intelligent equipments such as e-books, GPS navigation device, MP4, MID, tablet PCs, netbooks, notebook computers and mobile phones, etc.
The electronic pen is comfortable to use with the module because it does not require batteries and obstructive cord. Compared to resistive type and capacitive type touch technology, the EM module exterminates the influence of surface stains or abrasion, and avoids the erroneous input. So the operational life of intelligent equipments can be greatly lengthened. Another great merit of EM module is that it does not reduce the transparence of display, particularly for EPD. So, it’s a most proper input device for E-book.
Besides, combined with efficient and reliable recognition software, the EM module of Hanwang provides multiple languages, multiple handwriting fonts (such as cursive) handwriting and chinese-english-arabic numbers-mixed handwriting recognition.
Structure:
Hanwang ERT components consists of ERT pen, Sensor board, Shield plate and control unit. Its structure is showing below:

ERT pen draws tiny energy from electromagnetic field transmitted by sensor board. The control board read information of ERT pen such as position, movement and pressure through the resonance between ERT pen and sensor board. Magnetic field noise generated by mother board or user’s application board can be reduced by shield plate.
ERT unit do not require any cable or built-in battery-based power at all, which bother users a lot.
Technical Principle:
ERT unit employs synchronized exciting- receiving method, which avoid the frequently switch between exciting and receiving. Higher responding speed can be achieved with less power consumption.

Unique low duty cycle square wave exciting method is employed in ERT unit.
The induction circuit in ERT pen utilizes frequency selection to stir mutual inductance at higher order harmonics, sharper responding is achieved.
Control IC-HW0808:
The control circuit of Hanwang ERT components is based on a single chip developed by Hanwang with up-to-date technology and fabrication process. This chip, together with its embeded unique algorithm, does not need software calibration. So, the PCB area and cost of control circuit can be greatly shrinked.

Based on the ERT stylus’ current position, exciting signal and scanning area is dynamic adjusted under Region-dependent segmentation patented technology, power consumption declines sharply.
